Screen printing is an effective method for producing large quantities of an image and is the mainstay of the industry. Partly because Sooz started in California and partly because of environmental and health concerns, Sooz only used Water Based Inks. Unlike Plastisol, an industry standard ink which is a PVC based material, Water Based Inks are an acrylic and do not emit fumes that require VOC scrubbers.

However, Water Based Ink, while they are more enviromentally friendly, have application limitations when printing on dark or colored fabric since the ink is translucent. *
